Where I've been + 2 important reading assignments

Wow, I can't believe it's the end of May....the year's nearly halfway through and I feel like I should still be back in February! After experiencing some family health crises and deaths combined with the busiest year I've ever had with my business (not complaining there!), I've let my blog suffer. I never like to not post for so long but I work to stay true to what I preach when I say focus on your most urgent and most important tasks....That is family and paid work.

The good news is I'm slowly pulling myself out of the rut I got in to. The other good news is that I've accumulated all sorts of blog post ideas...they're currently on my BlackBerry's voice notes recorder but will be appearing here soon.

By the way, if you're ever in the need for more quick information security tidbits you can follow me on Twitter @kevinbeaver. I still tend to go there when I've got something quick I just need to get off my chest. Not because I like Twitter better...it's just a whole lot faster than a formal blog post!

I also wanted to wish each of you a long and fun weekend. Most importantly, let's not forget all the men and women in the military who've given their lives for us to be here today. God bless their souls.

Until my next post, here are some reading assignments - two pieces I wrote for Security Technology Executive (a great all-around mag you should subscribe to, today) that are a testament to how I feel about information security and what really needs to be done to make it work:

Fundamental fallacies

The K.I.S.S. method for IT security

All the best,
Kevin
